We are always praising the versatility and vast uses of Hemp. It is without a doubt the most eco-friendly material on the planet, and here is yet more proof of this. Wener Aisslinger presents this, the first natural fiber Monochair designed with a total new technology: Natural are moulded under heat with a special ecological glue into a new natural and sustainable composite material.

Aisslinger, a Berlin-based architect and designer, appears to have pioneered this new technique using . The hemp fibers are moulded under heat with a special ecological glue resulting in a very sustainable composite material. A brave but considerate move given that a complete structure done in a thin layer of material is one of the most complicated ways to design and engineer a chair. Aisslinger’s stylish design which features soft curves, along with a horizontal and vertical ring structure, is a new approach to this complex seating typology. Werner Aisslinger is working in partnership with BASF acrodur on the production of the chair.

I love hemp. I really don;t understand why it can’t be an industrial crop? aren’t we all adult enough to understand that you can’t get high from industrial hemp?

Politicians seem to think that hemp production will destroy our cities and flood the street with drugs?! How stupid.

I know. There is definetly an unknown force behind this worldwide. Might be the plastics industry or the paper mills… either way it will get to a point when governments won’t be able to deny it…and then Hemp for all!
